In November 2017 I visited Tokyo and Kyoto with my family. While enjoying the fall color and visiting many shrines I studied the food wherever I could. Along with many street vendors, restaurants and Matcha ice cream shops we visited the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo and the Nishiki Market in Kyoto. I returned home with a new very precious knife, candy, instant Matcha powder, various green leaf teas, Yuzu marmalade and a notebook full of notes and scribbles to pore over for months to come.
